We had to run to the grocery store in St. Mary that night, since it's end of the season, the shelves were SO bare!
Tuesday we headed into Alberta
We went to Waterton Lakes National Park
We stopped by the Prince of Wales Hotel in Waterton Lakes, a beautiful building, but closed for the season so we couldn't go inside
The scenery at Waterton Lakes--just north of Glacier National Park and the Canadian "sister park" to Glacier National Park
We went to the Cardston Temple
And stopped by the grocery store for ketchup chips!
And we finally got this screen shot coming back into the U.S.!
Wednesday we drove to Butte, Montana
It's where Evel Knievel is buried, right next to his grandparents. He was born in Butte, Montana
Thursday we went to Big Hole National Battlefield which is actually considered a cemetery
If you look closely, in the center of the photo, there are tipi frames where the Nez Perce were camped when they were shot in their tipis, men, women, and children were killed and their remains are there
On our way south, we saw a beaverslide, a way of stacking the hay up into huge haystacks, which was a Montana inventions since out this way winters are long and fierce and hay storage is a must
And then we got to herd cows! These guys were on the road as we were heading down it. We got to watch the dog and cowboy hard at work (look closely, the dog is herding the cows quite masterfully)
And we made it to Idaho!
Friday we went to the Idaho Falls Temple
Saturday we went to the Rexburg Temple
Then we visited the "TV Museum" which has one small section in it about Philo T. Farnsworth, inventor of the television. He was born in Utah, came up with the TV idea when he lived in Rigby, Idaho
It was quite the "homegrown" museum
We also visited the Sutton Cemetery to find some of the Mr.'s ancestors
Today we attended the Grandview Ward, Idaho Falls West Stake
